We would like to welcome you in Leipzig to the German Society
for Cell Biology spring member meeting organized by and for DGZ
members.
The meeting promises outstanding science in five different ses-
sions from the Keynote Zeiss Lecture by Peter Walter and the DGZ
prize winner talks to four exciting cell biology topics that have
been proposed and organized by young PI DGZ members.
In addition, we would like to encourage you to take this meeting
as an opportunity to interact with cell biologists outside your
immediate field to strengthen the ties among DGZ members and
to further build our community. To this end we have not only or-
ganized a social evening open to all members but also introduced
a new electronic poster board format, enabling oral presentations
for all who have submitted an abstract.
Finally, we would like to take this meeting as an opportunity to
discuss together with our members future directions of the German
Society for Cell Biology, why we need a German Society for Cell
Biology and what the Society should and can offer to its members.
On a final note, we would like to thank Thomas Magin and
his team for the local organization enabling us to have this
meeting in Leipzig. In addition, we would like to thank Sabine
Reichel-Klingmann for all the extra work that came in for the
DGZ office with registration, and other organizational aspects of
the meeting.
We are looking forward to a scientifically exciting meeting and
wish you many fruitful and inspiring discussions and interactions.
