PREFACE
Our current issue of CellNews focuses on the final programme
of this year’s
International Meeting from September 25 to 27
in Tübingen on Age-Related human diseases
(
-
sttagung.gbm-online.de) that is organised together with the
German Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (GBM).
Our topic perfectly matches the interface between Cell Biology
and Molecular Biology. Please have a look at the detailed pro-
gramme and watch the deadline for abstract submission: June
30, 2019! You will not only have the chance to hear renown
speakers from all around the world, but also to present your
own research in one of numerous short presentations chosen
from submitted abstracts. If you are selected for a poster pre-
sentation, you have the chance to talk about your research in
the lively poster sessions and to win one of our popular poster
prizes awarded by the GBM and the DGZ. Young researchers
are particularly invited to join the meeting and to learn about
Cell and Molecular Biology and our societies. Keep in mind
that travel grants for the meeting are available from the GBM
We also renew our call for applications for the DGZ Awards
2019. Please have a look into the details of the application,
which you may also find on our webpage:

International Meeting of the GBM and the DGZ.
Finally, it is our great pleasure to announce this year’s Carl
Zeiss laureate
Prof. Anthony Hyman from the Max-Planck-
Institute for Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics in Dres-
den
(
). Prof. Hyman
contributed with more than 250 publications to our under-
standing of cell division, microtubule and centrosome function
and non-membrane bound compartments, where he changed
our view of these processes at the molecular level. Prof. Hyman
will give the Carl Zeiss Lecture on our International Meeting in
a lecture open to the public. Don't miss the opportunity to hear
his presentation at our International Meeting in the framework
of a fantastic programme.
Best Regards
