Annual Symposium "Physics of Cancer"
taking place from
September 25 - 27, 2019
at the University of Leipzig Campus,
in the heart of the city of Leipzig, Germany.
Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the “Physics of Cancer” Symposium and building upon
the tradition of successful meetings in the previous nine years, we will bring together world-
class researchers from across the globe, who are leading the way investigating the physical
mechanisms underlying cancer progression as well as diagnosis and innovative therapies.
Some of the main topics covered in this symposium will be:
• Cancer cells and tumors in mechanical confinement
• Tumor-Stroma interactions
• Cancer cell migration and cell mechanics
• Cellular mechanosensing
• Physical diagnostics in translational research

The meeting has always been a fantastic platform to stay updated on the latest science in the
field, create new ideas as well as connect old and new collaborators.
In support of young scientists, we will select several of the best submitted abstracts from
students and post-docs for oral presentations, and create an open-forum for direct interaction
between the current field leaders and the next generation in a casual setting.
